Remember Oswald ‘Stoneman’ Comrie of Stoneman culture in Trench Town. He’s returned to his rock in Sandy Bay, Clarendon, hometown in Jamaica. He busies himself night and day restructuring his culture yard where visitors from as far as Japan once flocked to learn about his interpretations of stones.
The culture of interpreting stones and their messages is not new. Let alone the fact that Stoneman himself is a revered aged rastafarian who shares also on the religion, and as a herbalist is also consulted on the ‘green’ of Jamaica.
That aside, he is an artist who paints on fabric, making ideal hangings for walls, draperies and bedspreads in addition to creating patterns on clothing.
